CLASS 2 OVERVIEW
Financial statements tell many stories – from what a business owns and owes, to how it builds equity, generates profit, and uses cash. While different stories show up on different pages, each page connects to another like chapters in a book. And when they come together, they give you a full look at the financial health of a company through its financing, investing and operating activities.
In this class, we’ll go through the purpose of each financial statement, the relationship between them and how to use them to help your clients make financial decisions they’ll feel great about.
In this class, we do a deep dive into
- Why financial statements are a business owners primary decision-making tools
the importance of bookkeeping - The Balance sheet: how to assess the financial health of a company through its assets, liabilities, and equity
- The Profit and loss statement: how to assess the financial performance of a company
- The Cash flow statement: how to understand where cash is moving in and out of a business
What level of skill do I need?
The program is suited to new and seasoned advisors. The program is designed to help you understand the concepts and how to apply them to your advising services. The goal isn’t to turn you into a banker or an accountant and you do not need a background in accounting, finance, or be strong in math to succeed. You’ll see why once we get going!
